Posts Tagged ‘Readings’

This week I found myself pestered by my guides to ‘get myself out there’ and look at readings in a public venue. One venue came to mind immediately but I let my head take overĀ  (silly me) and went about it logically canvassing venues on a slightly ambling route between my day job and home. Of course this put the intial venue and the end of my route.

Generally the universe likes to give you a bit of a kick in the pants when you ignore your instincts so the first place I went it was hard work explaining to the publican why they might want to try this, in hindsight, completely wrong type of place, thank you universe for making that perfectly clear. As I moved further on my route it got easier, people were more receptive, interested and curious about the concept of a tarot reader in a bar. Finally I arrived at my instinctual target and I had barely gotten through my spiel when the publican dashes off to check a board, comes back and says, “Tomorrow, 6.30 to 8.30, Friday 6.30 to 7.30”. Fortunately I managed to restrain myself from responding with “huh?”.

The night arrived and I hadn’t even finished setting up when the first client came to my table, a beautiful spirit and a true seeker, she set the tone for the evening – depth and clarity.

My cards had so much to say to everyone and my guides… well let me just tell you they weren’t there just for decoration. Master Li had colours for empowering everyone, yellows and oranges and a warning of navy for one client. My body was responding to each client, I felt their blockages and they seemed amazed and moved when I shared my feelings with them.

Lots of cards were given out and I hope that I hear the further adventures of some of the stories and lives we were able to share.

Both nights ended up running to three hours each, there were tears, laughter, loves, and a healthy dose of empowerment. So if you’d like to join me at the British Crown Hotel in Collingwood stay tuned.

I also met a few people who were quite caught up in the ‘Myths” about tarot, I’ll share some of these myths and some links to great discussions of them very soon.

Have a beautiful day,

Janice-Marie

PS. there’s a new website in the works, I just have to re-write my content!

An equation reading

Reposted with permission of the querant.
I created this spread for my client as their question jumped the normal path of “and then and then and then” readings that I often get.

The spread I created is called the Equation spread because that was what it felt like as I laid it out.

Here is a link to the cards from the reading and the layout of the spread.

0. You right now – Three of Cups.
The cards show you as creative, multi-talented, comfortable with your self.
There is an air of casualness here. The figures in this card are at a moment of inaction and anticipation of the next step.

1. Your Strengths – Ace of Swords
You have a clear knowledge of what comes next, you are able to approach it with logic and patience just like the eagle who will hover and know when to dive and strike. Our lovely Ace sits on a precipice and even though the wind blows she has a calm assurance that she has gained the knowledge necessary to move on.

2. How to use them – The Fool
Have faith in your strengths. You have taken the time to gain this knowledge now use it! take the leap you know what the next logical step is.

3. Your weaknesses – Six of Pentacles
The lady here is stopping on her path for a posie she probably doesn’t really need. I get the feeling that while we know this card is about charity, in this case it applies you you being to generous with your time to small things. Passing fancies are diversions from your goal.

4. How they undermine you – The Magician.
Ah the magician here is single minded he has devoted years to his goal, I think in this case You are apt to convince yourself that these minor fancies are part of your goal and will help you get there but in reality they just consume your time.

5. What you need to add to your equation – The Emperor
You need to get yourself a little outward confidence and some bling! The Emperor here is relaxed in the fact that he built in and they came. He displays the confidence by being presented in his finery. I think the cards are saying you need to work on how you present yourself and your product.

6. What you need to remove – Knight of Cups
There is a sense of noble suffering in the card, the Knight pushes away temptations. I get the sense here that it isn’t temptations you need to remove but the noble suffering. The maidens represent missed opportunities because there is a bit of self deception about not being ready and opportunities being presented as being not quite right or not the market you want to focus on.

7. What is needed to make the changes stick? Eight of cups
The lady in this card has her back to us and looks to be crying, there is a small black dog behind her with his tail between his legs. I believe that the cards are trying to say you need to turn your back on the black dog emotion that constantly brings you down. There is a niggle here, it may be a confidence issue but whatever it is I feel you really need to focus on slapping it down hard whenever it rears it’s head.

8. Where can help be sought? Page of Pentacles
Oh what a well dressed young man we have here. I think there is someone who will help you who may seem a little flamboyant at first but when they look at you there is a shrewdness in the analysis of their eyes that you will find hard to miss. The clock suggests to me a timed aspect to your meetings with this person. the richness of this person reminds me of the message of the emperor I feel this person will be connected with your presentation issues.

9. What will be the outcome of committing to this path? King of Swords
There is a modicum of success, after all, it is good to be king. However you will reach a point where some cherished beliefs have been left behind in the drive for this success. It will not be an easy road but you have overcome your difficulties to get here. Maintain your integrity and look forward.

10. If no changes are made what will be the outcome? 7 of Wands
You will be fighting an uphill battle if you don’t make any changes. I see constant niggles, your conscience, other people, outside pressures.

11. Overall advice card – 5 of Pentacles
It won’t be easy, but have faith in yourself, hold onto those you are close too. There will be lean times, but hold onto the things that give your strength, your faith, integrity and your logic.

It’s a bit of a topsy turvy reading, I get the feeling that the next twelve months will be tough but you have a good base to work from. I see the multiple cups as a sign that you will have to control your emotions and really play to your strengths. I feel you need to set aside a few moments of your day for positive reinforcement and review of your goals. Make sure you are constantly moving towards your goal and not getting diverted. Making money is not a diversion though. Reject the starving artist mentality here (even if you are not an artist) work is work it puts food on the table. You can take on things that in your noble goals you don’t see as “you” as long as you maintain your integrity and they put bread on your table..
